1) Profile of your leader
Noriega was a Panamanian dictator from 1983 - 1989. He ruled Panama ruthlessly from 1983 to 1989 when the U.S.A. invaded and overthrew him. They did the because they knew he was selling drugs to the youth of America. He was involved with the CIA in the U.S.A.'s campaign against communism. Most of his political enemies disappeared. In July 30 1981, Panama's current ruler had his plane crash in the mountains of Panama. most people believe Noriega planted a bomb on the plane.
2) Audio/Visual/Artistic Element
This piece showed the goods and bads of Noriega's rule of Panama. It showed his humble beginnings, being part of the lower class of Panama, studying hard and working his way up, to the no so great part of his career where he was convicted of drug trafficking in Florida. Its shows how ruthless he was, but how liked he was, at least by the lower class, that was keeping him in power for a while.
3) Creative Piece
Man of many words and actions
Violent and cruel
4) Essential Question
If Noriega had let the elected president serve, what would be different about Panama today? Would Panamanians see him as the man they do now?
