The life of Robert Oppenheimer

Robert Oppenheimer Was born on April 22, 1904 in New York City. His father was a wealthy Jewish textile importer, and his mother was a painter. Dr. Oppenheimer was the head of the secret weapons laboratory in the Manhattan project. The Manhattan project was a crash program to develop the first nuclear weapons during world war II. The joint work of the scientists at Los Alamos resulted in the first artificial nuclear explosion near Alamogordo on July 16, 1945.
