Bosnia and Herzegovina: A country of the northwest Balkan Peninsula. Mountainous republic of south-central Europe; formerly part of the Ottoman Empire and then a part of Yugoslavia.

War: a state or period of fighting between countries or groups.

Weapons: something that is used for fighting or attacking someone or for defending yourself when someone is attacking you.

Starvation: suffering or death caused by having nothing to eat or not enough to eat.

Death: the end of life : the time when someone or something dies.

My Interesting Facts

1. I love how it shows that they suffered and fought through the whole experience of the war.

2. When the soldier told the story of the war that he was fighting through and was suffering through was just very sad and interesting.

3. I have learned that back then they sufferd through some very hard times.

My Personal Connection

My personal connection, is that i think this story is very touching and sad at the same time. I loved this story because i got to learn more about my family's culture. Throughout the story i could feel the emotion and pain going on. I relate to the story because my moms uncle died in the Bosnian war.
