Types Of Speed

Constant Speed

When the speed of an object remains the same it does not increase or decrease.

Ex: A car goes the same speed for a long period of time.

Variable Speed

Variable speed means an object is capable of changing speed.

Ex: The car changed speed when the speed limit dropped.

Average Speed

Average speed is the total distance traveled .

Ex: The car went the same speed the whole way home.

Instantaneous Speed

When the speed of an object is constantly changing, the instantaneous speed is the speed of an object at a particular moment

Ex: The speedometer was keeping track of the speed.
