I was a governor, lawyer, revolutionary leader, writer, philosopher, inventor, architect, plant scientist, book collector, musician, ambassador, secretary of state and the president of this here the United States. I was the third president. Many people may not know that I was also an astronomer. I also enjoy to draw. I sold 10,000 of my own books.
I wrote the Declaration of Independence in 1776. I began to practice law in 1767.I was born in Virginia. I am the father of the University of Virginia. I spent most of my time away from home.
I designed my own house, which I call Monticello. I inherited a large estate from my father. I have six children. I also have twelve grandchildren. I started school in my home at the age of five.
When I returned to Virginia I lived in Charlottesville, Virginia.
