Lamar requires that a student must have these things:

  1. Receive a diploma from an accredited high school.
  2. Complete at least 14 high school credits in college preparatory courses: 4 credits in English, 3 credits in mathematics, 2 credits in laboratory sciences, 2 ½ credits in social sciences (U.S. history, U.S. government, and world history or world geography) and 2 ½ credits in college preparatory electives (preferably including 2 credits of foreign language).
  3. Satisfy requirements of the State of Texas Uniform of Admissions Policy
  4. Graduate in the top 10 percent of their high school class or achieve a minimum composite score on the SAT or ACT.

Residents of Texas usually can expect an annual tuition of $25,435 and about $1,544 for books and supplies. Housing costs are about $7,966 per year.

To contact the scholarship office, you can visit the website, call them, or visit on campus. Most scholarships have deadlines of February 1st. You can print off scholarship applications from Lamar's website. I am interested in the Mirabeau B. Lamar scholarship, this is basically a full ride scholarship given to a selected student who applies. This is an academic scholarship and would be very helpful.

The soonest campus visit is Lamar's open house.  It is during the summer, usually in June. You can contact the office of admissions to set up a visit.
