George Washington: The Nation's First President

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, and he was born in Westmoreland county, Virginia.
He worked as a surveyor, planter, and general of the united States army.

He was married in January 6, 1759 and was married to Martha Washington.
He was a republican and he represented the state of Virginia.
He was in office from April 30, 1789 - March 4, 1797. He was 57 years old when he was inauguration. After his term he lived for 2 years and 10 days.

He once said, " It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one."

He died on December 14, 1799 at the age of 67 and he was buried at Mount Vernon in Virginia.
His parents were Augustine Washington and Mary Ball Washington.

He had 5 brothers and 2 sisters and he probably argued with each other.
He had one child and his name was John Parke Custis.

His wife was born on June 2, 1731. She died on May 22, 1802.
