Robert Frost was born in San Francisco California to a journalist William Frost and his mom lsabelle Moodie. Frost Dad died on May 5, 1885, the family moved across the country to Massachusetts. Robert graduated from high school and published his first poem in his high school magazine. Then he went to Dartmouth College for two months then got accepted into the Theta Delta Chi fraternity. Frost went back home to teach and to work at various jobs he did not like his jobs and believed that is true passion was poetry. Then later perused his dream of poetry and sold his first poem My Butterfly.
Frost published his first poem “My Butterfly on November 8, 1894 in the New York Independent for $15.00 ($409 today). After he published his poem he later he proposed marriage to Elinor Miriam but she demurred wanting to finish collage. Frost went on to teach English teacher Frost after done at teaching went to Great Britain with his family and later went and made his first poetry book “A Boy’s Will”. World War I began he moved back to America and bought a farm where he began his writing and in 1924 he won his first of four Pulitzer Prizes Frost went back to teach at the University of Michigan. Frost was able to say one of his well know Poem “The Gift Outright” at President John F. Kennedy Inauguration Frost died two years later in Boston and to this day he is one of the best writes.
Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
