Butch Walker Wife Nora: California Parents

Butch Walker grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, in the Greater Atlanta metropolitan area. He knew early on that he wanted to be a musician, and by the time he was a teenager was playing in rock and roll bands around town.

In 1988, when he was nineteen years old, Butch Walker took his band Byte the Bullet to Los Angeles, and inside a year the group had scored a recording contract with Virgin Records. They cut two albums for Virgin under their new name SouthGang, and even toured China in the early 1990s. It was a heady experience, but after the record label began making changes to their contract, along with not accepting changes to the band's direction, SouthGang disbanded.

For the next ten years Butch Walker formed and re-formed various bands and stayed on the road as a touring artist. In 2001 he went solo, release three albums in five years, and constantly performing. He even managed to go as far as Japan. He made his mark as a record producer that year, being named Producer of the Year by Rolling Stone magazine.

Today Butch Walker is in demand as an award-winning producer, whose work with Keith Urban and Taylor Swift has been nominated for CMA Album of the Year awards in 2013 and 2014. His work with Taylor Swift was also nominated for a Grammy. He has also continued to release his solo albums, with the latest, entitled Afraid of Ghosts, scheduled for release on February 3rd, 2015. He is due to go back on the road to support the new album in the springtime.
