In session one, you learn about material processing, the history of manufacturing, some of the inventions that were important in the development of manufacturing, and the proper use and safety for operating the Z-Mill.
In session 2, we learn why tolerances and specifications are important to the manufacturing process and learn how to correctly measure and mill a simple geometric shape using the manula control buttons on the Z-Mill.
In this session, you learn about the machine movements and various speeds as they relate to the Z-Mill and how to manually mill two additional objects to the milling project you started in the previous activity.
In session 4, you learn about the Cartesian coordinates system and how it relates to machine movement of the Z-Mill, the software that controls the mill, and mill simple geometric shapes.
In session 5, we use the Z-Mill software to create text for an engraved name plate, then mill your name into it using the Z-Mill.
I was absent and so you told me to skip this session.
In this session, you and your partner had to complete a challenge by using the Z-Mill and associated software.
What this module is about
In this module, you learn about the Z-Mill and how to work it, then later you make things using the mill and other tools associated with this module.
