Summer in CLE

#SummerInCLE is being near the water.

Lake Erie's shoreline is a blue oasis on the edge of Cleveland.

Ohio's Caribbean Sea

There is no better place to unwind amidst the bustle of increasingly vibrant Cleveland. Take walk down to the Lake Erie shoreline to see what, to me, looks like a blue ocean.  The best time to go is WHENEVER!  The breezes keep temperatures less hot in the summer but the warm water keeps the shoreline warmer at night than locations inland.  A great lunch spot during the day.  A phenomenal place to look out at in the middle of the night.  The sunsets are top-notch.

My favorite spots are:
  • Mentor Headlands Beach - Ohio's largest natural beach
  • Huntington Beach - smaller beach with great views of Cleveland in the distance to the east, especially spectacular at night
  • North Coast Harbor - best Cleveland skyline view day or night, directly behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • Edgewater Park - beach and fishing pier with great views of the city
  • Put-in-Bay - the Key West of the Great Lakes, you go here to have a good time and leave all of life's problems back home on the mainland
