A trip to Umiam Lake..............
It was all of a sudden one morning, just woke up and ask my better half to have a holiday break and get a biking trip to Umiam lake... we had a wonderful experience out there at Umiam. We had our lunch at Orchid Lake resort and evening coffee at the Snack Bar at Umiam Water Sports Complex park. Sharing few of the moments below... !!
About the Lake:
Umiam Lake is a scenic place tucked away amidst the hills of Meghalaya, which is just 80 Km from Guwahati, the crowded conurbation of NE India. The origin of Umiam Lake is back in 1965 due to the Umiam Umtru Hydro Electric Power Project and it spread over an area of more than 10 square km. and is of the exclusivity of its kind in the entire Northeastern region of India The rivers, Umkhrah and Umshvrpi joins river Umiam to form this beautiful lake and are the main source of water.
