Haikus are Japanese-style poems. Haiku poems are almost always based on nature. They are known for their strict five-seven-five syllable format. Haikus have a signature style, they are very short, usually very descriptive, but rarely with a rhyme scheme or rhythm. Sometimes Haiku poems can be confusing to me because they are so short but my example was one that can be easily made sense of, and kind of gives me a peaceful feeling.

An old silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond,
splash! Silence again.
