Neil Armstrong

Neil Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930 in Wakapakoneta, Ohio. He died on August 25, 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Armstrong was a deist. Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut and the first man to take steps on the moon. He was also an aerospace engineer, naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor.

Armstrong was very quiet, but was said to be close to libertarian. He was the eldest son of Stephen Armstrong and Viola Armstrong. He had 1 sister, June Armstrong, and 1 brother, Dean Armstrong. He was married to Janet Shearon, but they had divorced. He then got married to Carol Held Knight.

Neil Armstrong has 3 kids: Eric, Mark, and Karen Armstrong. Karen was diagnosed with a brain tumor and died. He first became interested in airplanes when he was 6 years old after he took his first airplane ride. After that he began taking flying license. On his 16th birthday, he was issued his pilot's license.

Armstrong earned his bachelor's degree at Purdue University.  People who knew Armstrong was: his Apollo 11 crewmate was Buzz Aldrin, Michael coats, Robert Pearlman.

Facts to know:

When he was 10, he was paid $1 to mow the cemetery in his home town. He earned enough money to attend the $9/hr flying lessons. Before he was an astronaut, he was a gofer for pilots at the local airport. After he graduated from college, he became a test pilot. He earned his reputation as "Mr. Cool".
