A Bad Case of Stripes

Summary

Camilla Cream loved lima beans. She never ate them when she met her friends. Why? Because her friends hated them and she wanted to fit in. This led to her having...A Bad Case of Stripes.

Implication #1

My implication is to be yourself and not worry about what others think about you.

The reason I chose this is because in the story Camilla Cream said her friends hated lima beans. She wanted to fit in with every else. If people can't accept your for yourself their not your real friend.

Implications

Don't change you and your actions just because of others.

In the story, Camilla changed because of her friends. She didn't eat lima beans because her friends hated them. Changing yourself because of others might lead up to something bad. When you try to fit in you end up losing something you really like or love.

Question

Have you ever lost something or gave up something to fit in with everyone else?

Yes when my sister and brother used to bring their friends over and i would take my baby blanket and hide it in the closet.

Not really because I believe if you can't be yourself and fit in a group, then that group just might not be the right friends for you.

I gave up on some friends just to fit in with others. I found out that my new group of "friends" hated things that I liked to do. So I left them and went back to my old friends even if it meant I wasn't considered popular anymore.

No,because like you said if you can't be yourself around them then obviously they aren't your friends, so why would you want to hang out with them

No because I like being the one that sticks out in a group and you shouldn't have to change for anybody.

Unfortunately yes, I have. It was in 5th grade. I really didn't lose anything, I just changed the way I acted. I started hanging around the wrong people. The ones who don't care about school. I immediately changed that when one of my friends noticd it. I will NEVER make that mistake again.

I don't think that i have ever lost something or gave up something just to fit in with everyone else because it doesn't matter what other people think of you. If they were truly your friends they would like you for who you are. I think that at one point in time everyone has acted like someone they weren't just so they would fit in.
