Julie Deane is 47 years old and she is the owner of satchel. Originally she just had £600 and wanted to fund children school fees. What started as a means to fund her children's private school fees has turned into a multi-million pound fashion line, an iconic carry-all beloved of A-listers.
And now, the company adored for its brightly coloured arm candy and cute buckles has been given a £12.7m cash injection by the same venture capital firm that invests in ASOS and Net-A-Porter
Deane, 47, also plans on expanding across the US and China after a successful trade mission trip with David Cameron last month.
The whole amazing story started when one of her daughters was being bullied at school and Deane looked at ways to earn money so she could go private.
Deane had been looking for satchels like she had at school because she was fed up with modern nylon bags.
