The moon's role

The moon gives us eclipse, tides, and every month the moon goes through a full set of phases. The moon is a very important part of our solar system. If there was no moon Earth would be very different. The moons gives us lots of important things. I will tell you what all those things are.

The moon phases

there are eight phases of the moon. The first one is the full moon, the full is the lunar phase that occurs when the moon is completely illuminated. The second one is new moon, the new moon is we're there is no illumination. The next one is first quarter where one half of the moon is illuminated. The next one is third quarter which is where the other half of the moon is illuminated. The next one is waning crescent is where more than half the moon is not illuminated. The next one is waning gibbous is where more than half the moon is illuminated. The next one is waxing gibbous which is where almost all the moon is illuminated. The last one is waxing crescent which is where almost all the moon is not illuminated.

Tides

There are two types of tides spring and neap tides. Tides are

Eclipes

There are two types of eclipses solar and lunar. A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the sun and earth. A lunar eclipse is when the moon passes into the Earths umbra. Eclipse are very neat even know I haven't seen one in real life I've seen pictures and they are very cool. If you ever have a chance to see an eclipese I would be worth it.

Conclusion

The moon is very important if there was no moon we would not have tides, we would not have eclipse, and we would not have moon phases, because there would be no moon! The moon is very important and we really need the moon. If we did not have the moon earth would run a lot different. I hope the moon doesn't blow up cause it would be horrible. That's what I know about the moon.
