  • In 2012 the US made up 39% of the worlds military expediture 18% higher than the next closest country.
  • The 682 billion the US spent in 2012 was more than that of the next 10 highest spending countries combined.
  • Returning troops have an unemployment rate of 11.1%. 2% higher than the national average
  • Majority of soldiers were taking from reserves and national guard
  • Since 2001 more than 2 million children have had a parent deployed at least once. 10,200 of those children lost their parent.
  • Military families tend to move more frequently on average every 2-3 years.
  • 68% of families that have lost a loved one to war have reported disrupted relationships with their child and drop in education.
