Titian Collage

This is a collage of the works of the Renaissance painter Titian. Born around 1490, Titian was a young painter from Venice with a fascination with the Roman goddess Venus. As prevalent throughout his works, he had a great interest in the female figure and Venus. His first major work "Assumption of the Virgin" (bottom right corner, faded) was commissioned by the church Santa Maria Gloriosa in Venice. Titian himself made many nudes, especially of Venus. As nude paintings were a new style of painting and not very approved of by the church, most of Titians work may appear Pagan in nature. However he still did a lot of works for churches in his life.

I haven't heard of him. What did his peers think of his work?

Great collage by a very talented painter. Why did Titan paint primarily nudes?

This is very interesting. I wonder what the painting in the center is of.

I always liked Titian and this collage reminds me why. Note, you title this work Titan though he was known as Titian. If that was on purpose then you should explain why. He was perhaps the best known of the Venetian School. You could describe that in more detail (e.g., what it was, why he is a good example, etc).

The paintings are gorgeous and have an interesting history. I want to know if Titian's fascination with Venus lead him to marry (as Venus is the love goddess)? If so, were any of the paintings of his lover/wife? Or is there any history on the models?

You also might want to edit the name on your collage

Interesting to ponder the influence of the church in art.
