El Greco is a famous painter who was born on an island in Greece in 1541. His style of painting was Spanish renaissance. His other style of painting is Mannerism, it is a very descriptive way of painting.

El Greco started practicing as a painter in 1563.
El Greco lived in Madrid, Spain and Toledo, Spain he also lived in Venice, Italy, Rome, and other places in Europe.
He was given permission to paint on the altar in the church of santo domingo, Dominican Republic.
El Greco got to join a painter’s academy in 1572.
El Greco died died April 7,1614.

A Lady in a Fur Wrap. This painting is about his love with a girl named Jeronima. I think this is what she looked rich, elegant, and pretty.
Christ Carrying the Cross. This painting is about Christ carrying the cross to go and get nailed to the cross.
