Civilians in Space: Agree or Disagree?

Space Persuasive Essay

Space travel helps scientists know more about the planets, stars, the sun and moon, and so much more. So should civilians be allowed to travel to space? I personally don't think that they should be allowed. It's too expensive, the people would be inexperienced and it's a lot of training and hard work for just ordinary people to go into space for only a day or two with no good reason at all.

My first point is that if civilians were to go into space it would be really expensive. NASA would have to pay for a spaceship to be built, suits for all the people, and specific training. Also, if people go into space and something goes wrong and somebody gets hurt then they could sue NASA.

Another reason why ordinary people shouldn't be allowed to travel is because they would be inexperienced. Many things can go wrong in space. What is something goes wrong and they don't have a clue what to do? They would be putting themselves and others at risk of getting harmed or trapped in space.

Sure going into space could be a once in a life time experience, however it is just a waste of time and effort. NASA should be working and saving money to send astronauts into space that could be helpful and bring back useful information. Also it would be useless, to have people that will probably only go into space once, to get all that training. To be professionally trained takes a lot of time, patience, and money. And a lot of people don't have that.

In conclusion I think that ordinary people should not be able to go into space. Anything can go wrong and it just takes time, and money. NASA should be using their time to do something that would actually be usually instead of just sending ordinary people into space  just because they want a vacation. So think about this: Do you really want to go up into space and risk your life just to have a good time?
