The Adult-Child Complex

These sidewalks once paved

In golden opportunities and silver linings,

Show their ugly face behind beautiful wings.

Oh adulthood, as much as I’ll miss this love affair

I need no more than to prepare.

The opportunity of going falling back

Overcomes the fear of losing the respect of my peers

For their expectations will then be too low to hear.

Here my future is locked in place

But in green pastures I find the public option.

Surely the good outweighs the bad?

For freedom is freedom

If given in one it must be in the other

For borderlines are remaining intact while my nerves on the other hand…

I digress

This is the best option for my future.
