why did the US finally become persuaded to enter WW1?
The US finally decided to join WW1 after the Germans sunk the Lusitania and many other passenger boats with Americans on them. On February 22, Congress passed a $250 million arms-appropriations bill intended to ready the US for war. On April 2, president Wilson gave his famous war message to congress. On April 4, 1917 the US senate voted 82 to 6 to declare war on Germany.
