The Mexican War was mainly started because of border dispute in Texas. President Polk sent American troops to the Texas border to Mexico and they were killed by Mexican troops. Once President Polk got word of the troops he declared war with Mexico.
The Battle of the Alamo is the most well known battle fought in the Mexican War. Juan Seguin's men, Davy Crockett's men, James Bowie's men and, William B. Travis were there to defend the Alamo from Santa Anna and his men from taking down.
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo named the official end of the Mexican war. it was signed by Santa Anna after he was defeated by Sam Houston and his men at Guadalupe Hidalgo.
