Floods in Texas and Oklahoma

Flooding had struck Texas and Oklahoma this Tuesday. The severe thunderstorms had caused the rivers to overflow and water to flow at incredible speeds. There was so much water that it had caused houses to be destroyed, streets being unable to be driven on, and expressways with hundreds of cars that had to be abandoned. Unfortunately there had been five killed in this tragic flood. Michele Blum said, “We are bunkered down upstairs in this game room, but our house had over three feet, maybe four feet, of water in it last night and this morning.” (Fernandez, www.nytimes.com). In Houston, 215,000 students had their schools closed. There has been a lot of tragedy in these two states. There were deaths, and people are still missing. There is going to be a lot of sadness, and you have to have a heart to feel for the families of the people that lost their homes, and to their passed family members.
