Bell Ringing

Saturday, November 29th, teachers from Howard Elementary will be ringing bells at Festival in Suamico. We would love it if you were able to join us! I will be there from 9:00 until 10:00 am. Other teachers will be there taking different shifts from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Feel free to stop on out and help raise money for The Salvation Army!

"T" is for Turkey

This week, your child has been learning all about the letter "T"! We have been talking about the upcoming holiday and how important it is to be thankful for all the amazing things in our lives like family, food, our homes, friends, and school. We have been talking about family traditions and what is important in our own families. Please take some time to talk with your child about your family traditions. If you don't have one, now is a great time to start!

Stars of the Assembly

On Wednesday, your kindergartener was the start of the show! Each assembly, a different grade level is asked to come up with an idea to present to the school. The kindergarten students taught the school a song called, "I Am Thankful". I am so proud of how awesome they did!

Making Sense of Math

This week, we had some fun building our families by using unifix cubes. Each color represented a different member of our family. We were quite amazed to see the range of our family sizes go from 4 members all the way to 15! We also included our pets, so that helped a bit. We are continuing our recognition of numbers to 20 and how to write them. We are also getting better and better with recognizing our 2D and 3D shapes. Keep reinforcing these skills at home to help with your child retaining information taught at school.

Reading Strategies Work

Reading strategies only work if you are practicing them with your children at home. Please continue to work on Stretchy Snake, Eagle Eye, and Lips the Fish to help your child become better readers.

*Turkey Trot is on Wednesday morning. The students will enjoy a fun obstacle course and a snack.
*Wednesday, November 26th, is a half day. School is done at 11:45 am.
*No school on Thursday the 27th or Friday the 28th.

Happy Thanksgiving!
