  • C.S. Lewis wrote many books with the Narnia series his most popular among kids. Lewis wrote nonfiction, poetry and fantasy.
  • Lewis wrote under two different pen names: Clive Hamilton and N.W. Clerk. He used these names when writing his Christian books to avoid linking his work to his fantasy novels.

In 2005, The Chronicles of Narnia:  The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe movie was released.

In 2008, The Chronicles of Narnia:  Prince Caspian movie was released.

In 2010, The Chronicles of Narnia:  The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie was released.



C.S. Lewis was born Clive Staples Lewis. When he was a boy he announced that he wanted to be called Jack. Close friends and relatives called him Jack after that.

Lewis fought in World War 1 until he was wounded in combat and released.

Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were very close friends.

Hushed Death...

C.S. Lewis and President John F. Kennedy died on the same day, November 22, 1963.  Because of this, only thirty people attended the funeral of C.S. Lewis since his death was not reported until after the news of President Kennedy's assassination quieted.
