The grade 6's have started a unit on numbers.
The central idea : The base ten system extends infinitely in both directions.
After assessing the students, some mistakes were spotted
Three different centers challenge students in different ways.
Center one : Students were creating different base counting systems. Can you guess which was the most challenging one? Yes! Base 2 or the binary system. But once they got it, they were on a roll.
Center two: Create number up to a million and write them in various forms.
Center three: Place digits according to their value in the correct place.
