The Great Depression

The great depression (1929-1939) was the deepest and long-lasting economic downturn in the history of the Western industrialized world. How it started was the the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent wall street into panic and wiped out millions of investors. The great depression caused citizens to not have jobs and unemployed causing them to go poor because there was very little money. It wasn't just the citizens that went poor, some banks had to go bankrupt because the people couldn't pay their fee's. The great depression didn't last until 1939 when world war II Kicked American Industry Into High Gear.

Throughout the years, Penn State York has continued to provide training and education for the local manufacturing community which dates back to its original beginning in New York.Eugene would like to go to Penn state because it majors in writing and Politics. The tuition in the 1930's for Penn state was $400. For textbooks it was $35 including a damage fee. The price depended on what you are going to major in. The schools mascot was a lion or since they first started.

Dear Mr. Stroheim

I am really sorry that i swept dust on your feet, i really didn't mean it. I really want my job back because my pop recently lost his job and there is no possible way that i can feed my family. Mr. Stroheim Im begging you to please hire me back, I will do anything to get my job back even if it means working extra shifts, I don't care, but please hire me back

Broadway SHOW

Personally for me Brighton Beach Memoirs was worth reading because you learn how life was back then and the struggle that most people had to go through with no jobs. My favorite part of the book was when Stan came back and Eugene was happy to see him and Stan gave him a picture of a naked girl and freaked out. My favorite character in the book was Stan because he had such loyalty and was so hard working. The reason that people should watch the play or book is because it is amazing how the world has changed.
