How to use Tackk
Tackk is an interactive "poster" that can be used to represent ideas and demonstrate the utmost creativity. On this tutorial, we will be learning how to create and use Tackk.
This option is used to separate specific headlines or important topics. The option listed directly to the right of the headline option (4 text lines), represents the option to insert smaller text. This option is best used when writing brief sections of text describing the headline, picture, video, etc.
Pictures and Images
The picture above was inserted using the camera icon. Pictures and images can be helpful in adding creativity to your board.
To insert a video, click the video camera icon. You can then choose the media in which you will be using. If you open a different browser to search for the video, simply and copy and paste the address into the search bar option listed and click "embed."
Music and Sound bytes
To insert music or sound bytes, follow the same procedure listed above for videos. Again, search in a different tab (I used sound cloud) for the music in which you would like to insert. Copy and paste the URL and start enjoying your music. Be sure that your music relates to your topic and serves a purpose.
To insert a button (link), click the oval icon. You will be given the option to type the web address that you would like your button to link to. You may also edit the text on the button by clicking the settings wheel. For example, I typed in the the web address for espn.com in the URL box, and then edited the button to say "Go to ESPN.com."
To insert a specific location, click on the map pointer icon (listed directly to the right of the button icon). You can insert a specific location, or you can click the location box for directions from location to location (will open a new tab).
To insert a specific piece of social media, start by clicking the box with the "+" sign. Next, choose the social media in which you would like to used. Once again, type the web address into the URL bar. Be sure that the information is both school appropriate and is beneficial to your board.
Display options can be found on the right portion of your screen. Here you can change the style of your background, the color, the font, and the option to share your Tackk.
The comment Stream (seen below, usually at the bottom of the Tackk) can be used to comment on the board you are currently viewing. This is a great tool to leave feedback, and will also be used for peer reviews.
