In session 1 we got to learn about cells of a human, and we got to learn about DNA layers. That's not all we got to do though we also got to build a DNA replica out of different colored tubes.
In session 2 we got to learn about different steps of mitosis like the one shown above. After learning about mitosis we got to make a replica of the steps with beads.
In session 3 we got to learn the difference between dominant and recessive genes. We then compared phenotype to genotype. We got to start on the frog worksheet.
In session 4 we got to use legos to complete the Lego worksheet. At the beggining of the session we got to combine alleles to produce offspring. in the worksheet we did probability.
In session 5 we learned about sex liked traits with frogs and humans. After that we had to analyze genotypes and phenotypes of a dihybrid cross.
In session 6 we were given a couple different situations involving genetic engineering. we were asked two look at the situation from point of view of one of the parties involved. After this we got to work on a worksheet.
Before we did anything in session 7 we had to take the post test. We then got to use lego bricks to simulate a population of frogs. we then explored the effect of natural selection on a population. we got to then explore the effect of environmental change on a given population. After that we ended the session.
The best career involving genetics that i found good is lab genetics. They do many different things like identifying genetic markers for use in tests to diagnose Alzheimer's disease.their normal salary is $95,530 a year. The reason i found this interesting was that i always loved working in lab. I, also think they have an important job. This career would be the career that i would get in if i loved gentics.
