Background - He was born as a slave on December 23rd, 1815, he was also very educated.  He was known for a leading abolitionist.  Henry was the first black to be a sermon in the house of representatives. The garnets were in danger of being captured by slave catchers. His parent nearly escaped the slave catchers. Went to a school at African free school. He gave a speech to get slaves to go against there owners.
