Cell Analogy- Restaurant
The Cell Membrane is like the doors. Both the membrane and the doors control what goes in and out of the cell and building.
The Cytoplasm in a cell is like the floor in a restaurant. The cytoplasm holds all the organelles together and in place, and the floor holds the tables and chairs in place.
The Nucleus is like the manager. Both the nucleus and manager control the cell and restaurant, and also are in charge of the information and DNA.
The Mitochondria and Stove are both similar. Both of them create energy for the cell and cook food for the building.
The Endoplasmic Reticulum is like the Kitchen. Proteins can be transferred through the E.R., and are also moved through the kitchen in a restaurant.
The Ribosomes are like the Chefs. The ribosomes make protein in a cell, and the chefs create protein in a restaurant.
The Golgi Apparatus is similar to to the waiters. The golgi apparatus packages and transports things, and in a restaurant, the waiters transport food and move things around.
The Lysosomes in a cell are like the sink. The lysosomes break down and help digest the food, just as the sink washes away and can take away food in a restaurant,
The Peroxisomes in a cell are like a garbage disposal. The peroxisomes break fatty acids and turn them into carbon dioxide and water, where as a garbage disposal breaks up food and disposes it.
The Cell Wall in like the building. Both the cell wall and building protect the what’s inside the cell and restaurant from the outside.
The Central Vacuole is like the Fridge in a restaurant. Both the vacuole and fridge stores water and other liquids for the cell/restaurant.
The Chloroplast in a cell is like a Solar Panel. Both of them are able to take sunlight in and turn it into energy.
