Techie Tidbit Tuesday
Are you ready to integrate technology into your classroom? Find a tidbit or two here to provide an innovative learning experience for your students.
This is such a fun (and BUSY) week for students and teachers. Many lessons are being created, developed and implemented with the holidays in mind. There is so much to be thankful for in education like our untiring teachers who give countless hours to their students. Many thanks to you! Here is a technology tidbit or two to help you during the week before Thanksgiving break.
YouTube is a fabulous resource to use in your classroom. 'Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey is a holiday favorite read by Grace Jones on YouTube. Click on the live link and you and your students will experience a wonderful story with background music as well as sounds to ignite the emotions. Extend the lesson with a discussion on the characters and setting. How do you directly relate to the story? What was the problem and how was it solved? Can you predict a different ending and how did it turn out?
Do you want your students to further extend their understanding and write their own version of the story? You can start with an easy brainstorming activity with your students. Bubbl.us is a simple and free web application that lets you brainstorm online. You and your students can create colorful mind maps and share with others.
My hope is you find my technology tidbits helpful. If you have suggestions, comments or questions about Web 2.0 tools, please let me know. It's a wonderful world of technology out there!
