Ecology is a type of biology dealing with interactions between living organisms with one another and there environment.

Individual

Clownfish-live in anemone!

Individual Habitat

Clown fish have a layer of mucus that make it immune to the lethal sting of an anemone

Individual-Being in a larger group

Population- A group of particular animals that live in a place.

An example of mutualism is a clown fish in an anemone. The anemone gets cleaned, and the clown fish stays protected.

An example of commensalism is when a barnacle lives on the bottom of a whale. The barnacle gets nutrient filled water as well as a free ride. Also while the whale is not getting hurt or harmed.

An example of parasitism in the ocean is when whales have intestinal worms that eat all there food.

Community is a group of organisms who live in the same area

Ecosystem is where a group of non-living and living things live

Abiotic Factors

-Water(all animals in the ocean breath with water

-Sun( Helps to not make the ocean too cold for life)

-Sand(Is a home for animals such as the crab)

-Rocks(Protection for some animals who are small enough)

Biotic Factors

-Fish(they eat the animals and balance the food chain.)

-Seaweed( For herbivore fish )

-Shrimp(smaller fish can eat)

-Sharks(eat the larger fish and more)

Protista

-mostly unicellular, some are multicellular (algae)

-can be heterotrophic or autotrophic

-most live in water (though some live in moist soil or even the human body)

-ALL are eukaryotic (have a nucleus)

Plantae

-Most of the plants are eukaryotic and chlorophyll containing organisms.

-Cell walls of plant cells are comprised of cellulose.

-They have an ability to grow by cell division.

Fungi

-Some are unicellular

-All are eukaryotic

-Many reproduce both sexually and asexually

Animals

-Animals are multicellular.

-Animals reproduce sexually.

-Every single animal has the ability to move

Phytoplankton- A producer(oxygen); autotroph

Producer- makes its own food. Usually autotroph

Consumer- Finds and eats its own food because it cannot make its own.

Decomposer-Breaks down the cells of dead plants and animals into smaller subsrances.

None of these have

-cells

-can reproduce

-grow

If there was no sun, the ocean would freeze and all the animals would die.

If there was no water, all animals would die of thirst.

If there was no sand some animals would lose a home. As well as there would be no islands.
