Obama signs executive order to protect gay, transgender employees from workspace discrimination.
Summary of Story/link
On July 21, 2014, President Obama signed an executive order that prohibited discrimination against gay and transgender employees in the workplace. This change will effect 24,000 companies with 28 million workers. Obama also added sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protections and commanded the Labor Department to carry out the order. It will take in effect early next year.

It is our freedom to do as we choose with our lives. When people discriminate against another in a work environment, or any where, they lose that freedom. They lose the freedom to be themselves and live the way they want. Opportunity is lacked when there is discrimination in a workplace. They do not feel safe in a place to earn money and make a living for them selves and their families. When their ability to work is taken away, they lose the opportunity to make a living.
