What is Cyber Security?

Cyber security, also referred to as information technology security, focuses on protecting computers, networks, programs and data from unintended or unauthorized access, change or destruction.

What does a Cyber Security Professional do?

A cyber security professional enables a globalized economy based on the free movement of people, goods, services, capital and ideas. Cybersecurity is not just a matter of blocking bad things a cyberattack can do; it is protecting all the good things that cyberinsecurity can prevent us from doing. The key to all online security is a secure online identification system. But a nebulous fear of an imagined Big Brother prevents citizens in many places from adopting a smart-chip-based access key that would afford them secure online transactions.

Why are the Traits that are above needed to do this job?

It is important to be a Gadget addict because you need do something you are comfortable with and know how to use. In order to successfully deal with hacking and cyber networking, you need to be a good problem solver and do things step by step.  If you do not enjoy spending time to help the online community then this job is not for you.  Not panicking is one of the most required skills as a cyber security professional. You need to be calm at all times.  Dealing with computers and seeing how there are many ways to hack, you have to think outside the box.  In order to successfully track hackers, listening to every detail is very important.  Multitasking is needed to focus on things around you and also the Internet.  Cyber security is not a solo job, it comes in pairs and teams. Communicating is key.  In order to be a strong security officer on the Internet, you need to be on top of your game so that whatever hackers throw at you, you need to respond to it immediately.  Every detail is important because coding and hacking is a very specific way to enter security.
