Theta Phi Alpha
Ever Loyal, Ever Lasting
I was hesitant to join Greek Life my freshman year, I was not sure if it was for me but decided to go through formal recruitment to make sure. I was immediately proved wrong, I fell in love with Theta Phi Alpha and have never looked back. Now as a senior I could not imagine my life without my beautiful sisters. Through my experiences I have become a strong and confident young woman as well as determined leader.
I have formed some incredibly strong bonds with my sisters, but nothing quite as strong as the bonds I have with my big and my little. From the second we were revealed to each other my big Emma (center) and I have been attached at the hip. She is the big sister I never had growing up and my absolute other half. I thought that kind of bond could never be duplicated, until I was matched with my little, Morgan (right). There is no doubt in my mind that they were destined to be in my life and Theta Phi was what brought them to me.
My favorite quote about being in a sorority sums up everything that I seem to be unable to put into words, its says :
"People ask why I am in a sorority and I try to explain all the things a sorority is that they cannot see. A sorority is more than letters on a sweatshirt, I say. More than traditional songs, a gold pin, rituals, and obligation, or a way of life. A sorority is learning about people, a sorority is giving without expecting a return. A sorority is earning respect from others, as well as for yourself. A sorority will not solve all your problems. But I have made good friends and found confidence there to help me take life one step at a time."
I have worked hard for this organization, I have served two years on our executive board and have given my time in so many different ways and I would not change a thing. I love the Greek community here at UD, I love my incredible sister, and I love Theta Phi Alpha.
