YouTube Changes

ACCESS TO YOUTUBE VIDEOS - Google has made changes to the way it delivers, which will affect Baltimore County Public Schools’ (BCPS) access to YouTube videos. BCPS’ Network Support Services has implemented YouTube’s Safe Mode for all users, which will minimize the possibility of students accessing questionable content. While the district operates in YouTube’s Safe Mode, some YouTube videos that were once available to teachers may be blocked. Since BCPS has no control over YouTube’s Safe Mode features, BCPS’ Web filtering cannot unblock YouTube videos on a case-by-case basis. Currently, BCPS is redeveloping a Web filtering design that will be in place by the third week of January 2015, which will provide safe content to our students while meeting the needs of our teachers and staff. Thank you for understanding as the Department of Information Technology works with BCPS’ content providers

Edmodo Update

Edmodo single sign-on has been delayed. They are having some trouble integrating with BCPS One. They do not want to rush this deployment since so many teachers and students use this resource. There is no new ETA on when this will be available.

Leave computer itself on.
Turn OFF TV monitors, Promethean boards, and LCD projectors.
