Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston Massachusetts on January 17, 1706. He is a very important political leader and a great scientist. He opposed the 1756 Stamp Act and became involved in radical political movements. He spoke before the House of Commons in early 1766 about the Stamp Act clearly stating that any attempt to enforce the Stamp Act by the use of troops might bring on rebellion.
