The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Above you will see The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Here are some facts about the leaning tower.

It leans more than 14 ft. In 1990, it started to straighten out, but not all the way. It has 296 steps. It was built more than 800 years ago. It was named after the city of Pisa, Itally. Its a bell tower and seven bell's are located on the eighth floor, each bell represents one note of the musical major scale. No one knows who architect was. The tower weighs about 14,500 tons. That's a lot of weight for a building to have to support when it has been leaning sense it was built. If it hadn't been for the two pauses and construction it would have taken between 185 to 195 years to complete. The Leaning Tower of Pisa took 344 years to build, beginning in August 1173. So that means that it was finished around 1517 I believe. It was built as a freestanding bell tower for the cathedral in Pisa. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is only 55.86 meters tall-With its low height, its the smallest "tower" achieve worldwide recognition.
