The founding of Metallica.
Metallica, a heavy metal band formed in 1981 by James Hetfield in Los Anglese California. Lars Ulrich witch is the bands drummer ran an add that he wanted a band to "jam with" James Hetfield began singing and playing rythm guitar as they recorded songs for Metal Blade Records. The band was officially formed in October of 81', Lars Ulrich ran another add in the news paper to find a lead guitarist, Dave Mustaine which accepted the offer to join "Metallica".

The band even though started back down in the 80's is still going strong working on a new album for this year! With 12 albums and millions of sales this new album is having high expectations from fans. James has stated that this new album will be a heavier version of the self named "Metallica" Album. Unlike many other thrash and heavy metal bands from the period Metallica with it's current members have no sign of even slowing down let alone stop doing what they love. The band has been awarded many different awards including "Kerrang awards" for best album, "Death Magnet"

Metallica performing at Tushino Airfield in Russian at the free Monsters of Rock concert Witch featured Metallica, AC/DC and Pantera. At this concert in 1991 an estimated 150,000 people to 500,000 people showed up! In 2009, 19 years after the Monsters of Rock concert and several albums Metallica was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame.
