                     The Moon's Role

The moon has many roles that are very important. First, there are phases, phases are different shapes of the moon you see from earth. Secondly, there are tides, tides is the rise and fall of ocean water that occurs every 12.5 hours or so. Thirdly, there are eclipses, elipses happens when an object in space comes between the sun and a third object, it casts a shadow on that object causing an eclipse. In conclusion there are many roles that the moon has, phases, tides, and eclipses these roles are very important to our world.

                        Moon Phases

We have phases for many reasons. First, we have phases because it has to do with the moon's motion. Secondly, the moon has phases because it orbits Earth, which causes he portion we see illuminated to change. Thirdly, moon phases affect us here on Earth because it causes some human or creature behavior. In conclusion moon phases are very important for many reasons.

                               Tides

Tides occur for many reasons. First, Tides is the rise and fall of ocean water, that occurs every 12.5 hours or so. Secondly, tides are caused mainly by differences in how much gravity from the moon and the sun pulls on different parts of Earth. There are two different kids of tides spring tide and neap tide. Spring tide occur if the sun, moon, and earth are nearly in a line during a new moon. Neap tide occur during first-quarter phase the line between Earth and the sun is at right angles to the line between Earth and the moon. Neap tides occur twice a month. In conclusion tides are an important part of the moons role.

                             Eclipses

Eclipses occur for many reasons. First, eclipses occur when an object in space comes between the sun and third object, it casts a shadow on that object causing and eclipse. Secondly, there is two different kid of eclipses solar and lunar. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, blocking sunlight from Earth. The moon's shadow then hits Earth. A lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon when Earth is directly between the moon and the sun. Thirdly, there is a darkest part of the moon's shadow it is called the umbra and the larger part of the shadow is called the penumbra. In conclusion Eclipses are an important part of the moon's role for many reasons.
