What is Mythology: Mythology are stories tell by person about Mythical creatures. Not only Mythical creatures but gods and goddesses too. The term "mythology" can refer either to the study of myths or to a body or collection of myths. For example, landscape mythology is the study of landscape features in terms of totemistic mythology, whereas Hittite mythology is the body of myths of the Hittites.

Name: Zeus

Description: God of the sky.

He was the god of the Olympians.

He was the father of Perseus and Heracles.

He was the youngest son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea.

Mythical Creature

Name: The Minotaur

Creator: Queen Pasiphae

Description: Half men,Half Bull. Body of a men and Head of a Bull.

"Minotaur" was originally a proper noun in reference to this mythical figure. The use of "minotaur" as a common noun to refer to members of a generic race of bull-headed creatures developed much later, in 20th-century fantasy genre fiction. Androgeus, son of Minos, had been killed by the Athenians, who were jealous of the victories he had won at the Panathenaic festival. Others say he was killed at Marathon by the Cretan bull, his mother's former taurine lover, which Aegeus, king of Athens, had commanded him to slay.

Myth Summary

Greek mythology is the body of myths and teachings that belong to the ancient Greeks, concerning their gods and heroes, the nature of the world, and the origins and significance of their own cult and ritual practices. It was a part of the religion in ancient Greece. Modern scholars refer to and study the myths in an attempt to throw light on the religious and political institutions of Ancient Greece and its civilization, and to gain understanding of the nature of myth-making itself.

Mythical narration plays an important role in nearly every genre of Greek literature.
