Information: Acids, Bases, & Ph Scale
Acid:
Taste sour
Indicator turn red
Partly ionizes is solution is a weak acid
Acid produce hydrogen ions, when dissolve in water.
Bases:
Taste bitter
Indicator turn blue
Base produce hydroxide ions in solution.
Bases feel slippery
Solutions with pH greater than 7 are Base.
Ph Scale:
The pH scale is traceable to a set of standard solutions whose pH is established by international agreement.
pH is defined as the decimal logarithm of the reciprocal of the hydrogen ion activity, aH+, in a solution.[1]
