Mafia Movie Man

Robert De Niro was introduced to acting at a very young age. He would go to the movies with his father and dream one day he would be on the big screen. De Niro was given a scholarship to an arts school but was overwhelmed and then dropped out over just two days. Being a drop out he decided to join an Italian street gang which he says gave him good practice for all of his mob movie roles. He then later enrolled in public school. At age 16 he took at a cross country trip from New York City to Los Angeles to visit relatives. After spending time here Robert decided to drop out of high school to pursue an acting career. He then took a few acting workshops with Stella Adler and scoring off-Broadway roles. He is now considered one of the greatest actors of our generations and has two Oscars, a golden globe, and a long list of lead roles in box office hits to show for it.

"One of the things about acting is it allows you to live other people's lives without having to pay the price."

'This quote has transcendental quality through nonconformity. This is because instead of living people's lives and being like them he would rather just act. He will then not have to pay the price. Also I believe their is confidence because he believes he doesn't have to be like the people. he is confident he can get the idea of how they live through acting.

Robert De Niro has a lot of qualities of transcendentalism i believe. One being his confidence to drop out of high school knowing in his heart he had what it took to make it big in the acting world. Another being nonconformity because instead of going for small roles to start his career in movies he dove in and tried to land the big ones. Lastly, he had a lot of self-reliance to drop out of high school and be on his own and depend on himself to make it in the acting buisiness.

"Man is his own star; and the soul that can
Render an honest and a perfect man,
Commands all light, all influence, all fate;
Nothing to him falls early or too late.
Our acts our angels are, or good or ill,
Our fatal shadows that walk by us still." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

This quote relates to Robert De Niro because it shows his confidence that now matter what the circumstances in life you can always achieve your dreams.

In conclusion, Robert De Niro can influince our day to day lives by looking at his life and know that you can always prosper no matter how many mistakes you've made. Also, it is never to early to get a jump on your dreams.
