1. An allusion is a reference, metaphor, or simile pertaining to another work. It can either be a direct reference to an event or character in the work or it can be a more abstract one, such as referencing the concepts and using a character's name or motif to relate it.

2. Cupid's ability to compel love and desire plays an instigating role in several myths or literary scenarios.
