Ideal Career

When I get out of school I would like too go to the West Virginia State Police. The State Police patrol assigned area to enforce laws and ordinances, regulate traffic, control crowds, prevent crime, and arrest violators.

I would like too be stationed in either Parsons, Phillipi, Elkins, or Pocahontas County. I would like too be stationed there because it is really close too home.

The training is the hardest part of going into the State Police because you have too go to Charleston, WV for twenty-five weeks and can only come home on weekends. There is a physical test and a written test the physical test you have to be able too do 18 push-ups/minute, 27 sit-ups/minute and run a 1.5 miles in 15 to 20 minutes.

Where you can get this training there is only one place you can get this training it is in Charleston, WV but when you make it through the academy you get a associates degree through Marshall University.
