"A type of music that combines elements of old-school rock and country, or belonging to the genre of early blues-enfused rock of the 50's."

Rockabilly originated in the mid 1950s, it combined rock and country music in a unique way that had never been heard before. Artists like Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Elvis embraced this genre and surrounded their music with it.

Instruments like the electric bass guitar were very commonly used in this genre, and over the years it has become more technological and the lyrics and meanings of the songs have conformed to the time.

The genre was prominently male dominated by artists such as Elvis right der. A typical song might be about having a good time or partying or drinking alcoholic beverages, etc. (drugs)

Jerry Lee Lewis was a popular rockabilly artist even though he was addicted to several drugs. His most popular single was probably "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" which included instruments such as piano, drums, and of course, vocals. We chose this song because it was very popular in the era.
