Moment Poem

I see the rays of the summer sun

Shining through the dense place I call home

My smooth skin glides across the rough walls of my coral house

I see a school of my kind turning quickly

Through the vegetation stretching towards the sky

Diving upwards, I rush through the school as they pass by

I am nearing the surface

I am a free bird flying in the clouds

Though I never have or will experience flight

I know what freedom feels like

It feels like this

I reach the surface

Just as the summer sun disappears on the horizon
